well as adding some fun and a level of interest at this quiet time.
It might be the quietest month of year for this particular place to eat in Cromer, but it seems to be the month when we also spend the most money! We’ve just had the whole café redecorated from top to bottom by Tony Kerr, and he’s done a terrific, really professional job, so we are now all spick-and-span ready for the hoped-for summer onslaught. We’ve also used the time to have a completely new extractor system installed in the kitchen, as well as replacing our existing electric oven and hob with a modern gas one.
Half term came and went, and we were very busy as usual, our special kids meal deals in particular proving very popular. The Easter holidays are not very far away now, so we are getting ourselves all geared up for that and hoping that we will again prove that our café will be one of the most popular places to eat in Cromer for kids and families.
However, February ended on a sad note. We learned that one of our regular customers, Ivy Hewitt, passed away peacefully in her sleep in hospital yesterday morning. She was a lovely, determined, stubborn lady with a wry sense of humour, and we always looked forward to her visits to the café. She will be sadly missed by staff and customers alike – but fondly, and frequently, remembered. Our condolences go to her family.
More soon in the March blog.
